CHARITY SHOPS MANAGER – PART TIME
24 HOURS PER WEEK
Overview
Are you looking for a change? Our volunteers are the heart of our charity.
We are seeking an experienced Manager for our charity shops and the volunteers who support us. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. The Manager will be responsible for maintaining organisational standards, implementing, and ensuring the smooth functioning of daily operations within our retail environment.
Responsibilities
• Lead and supervise the volunteer team, providing guidance and support to maximise productivity and morale
• Oversee daily shop operations, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures
• Oversee and support the volunteer team to merchandise displays to optimise product visibility and appeal
• Monitor stock levels, coordinating with volunteers for timely replenishment
• Maintain high standards of customer service, and demonstrating excellent communication skills
• Conduct volunteer training sessions on sales techniques, product knowledge, and organisational procedures
• Handle administrative tasks such as rota management, reporting, and maintaining records of sales
• Foster a positive shopping environment by promoting teamwork and organisational efficiency
• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations within the premises
Qualifications
• Proven experience in volunteer management, demonstrable leadership skills in supervising teams effectively
• A strong background in retail management or shop supervision
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently
• Experience in merchandising, administrative tasks including finance and banking, and managing stock levels
• Proficient in using retail software or relevant administrative tools
• Ability to motivate volunteers, promote teamwork, and maintain high levels of enthusiasm

Our Friends organisation was first formed following a meeting at the Corn Exchange, Blandford in 1948 and was a founder member of the National Association League of Friends and is a registered charity with the Charity Commission for England and Wales.
The charity is committed to supporting Blandford Community Hospital in delivering excellent standards of treatment and care, and assisting health related projects and groups in our community.
Our aim is to make a significant difference to the reach and scale of the services available to our community in and around Blandford. We do this by supporting the Hospital clinical staff in any way we are able but especially by providing funds for capital and infrastructure projects that are outside the affordability of the NHS.
